TCP Plot / Chart Reading
- It takes time and practice to become good
- The best way to learn is to setup a control case to plot and read the facts back out
- Real trace / plot usually behaves differently than book definitions
- Points:
- Receiver side plot
- RTO (retransmission timeout) changes over time. The more packet loss, the more RTO increases
- The gap in the middle of the graph is probably network connection loss
- The receiver window size is about 24/25
- Rate of transmit changes as shown in the second half of the graph
