A home page on the world wide web is like the cover of a good book, it gets people's attention and draws them in. This course uses HTML (Hypertyext Markup Language) to create a basic web page. Topics includes:
- WWW Overview
- Basic Network Overview
- Web page style guidelines
- What makes a good web page
- Basic HTML coding
- Internal and external hypertext links
- Incorporating images
- Tools for writing web pages
This course explores the new "gee whiz" elements found on the web. This course uses HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) to create a complex web site. Prerequisite: Introduction to Creating Home Pages or previous experience writing web pages. Topics include:
- The planning process for a web site
- Designing individual web pages to create a look
- Quick Review of HTML basic elements including Tables
- Frames
JavaScript Programming (Advanced WWW)
JavaScript enhances the functionality of the Web browser, enabling developers to produce content that changes in response to user actions. This kind of interactive setting with dynamic data allocation, makes information more accessible and easier to organize and digest.
In this class, we will teach this powerful scripting language. The goal is to enable student to create interactive Web site with JavaScript. Some of the interesting topics will include:
- Analysis and present browsers specific information (current URL, history list, version, etc.)
- Interactive windows management (Pop up JavaScript windows while browsing)
- Dynamic generation of HTML with run time user inputed data
- Building interactive forms with client side error checking
- Spread sheets and calculators
- Selected topics such as Dynamic HTML will also be covered
